OVERVIEW
When running a high rpm and high horsepower racing engine an external crank trigger is a must to avoid issues with a factory internal trigger wheel.
This is the top mount version of our bracket.
The crank sensor sits horizontal in relation to the engine and crankshaft. The bracket has crank sensor adjustability of approximately up to 60 degrees of BTDC as well as adjustability of the timing pointer to property set TDC. The bracket also provides front to rear adjustment of the crank sensor of approximately 1-1/2″ of range.
If you are using a Jesel Belt Drive, an optional hall effect cam sensor can be added within the main adjustment slot to accommodate a cam signal via a magnet added to the cam sprocket of the belt drive.
The bracket is machined to accept crank sensors with 3/4″-16 thread pitch.
The bracket will accommodate standard ATI 7″ GM Chevy LS Super Dampers with ATI crank trigger shells or bolt on 7″ crank trigger wheels. Maximum diameter of external bolt on wheels or shells is 7 – 1/2″
TECH RESOURCES
– Will not work on applications with water pumps, fuel pumps or anything mounted directly in front of the cam gear location.
– This kit included two standoffs which position the bracket a fixed distance from the block. We found this distance to accommodate most applications. Material can be machined from the standoffs if your application requires the bracket to be mounted closer to the engine block.
– A 3/4″ – 16 thread crank sensor must be used.
